It is important to know about standard of living because it gives you a good understanding of how easily a country can meet their basic needs and wants. If you have a high standard of living then your life will be easier than someone who has a low standard of living. The standard of living can be analyzed using the five themes of geography. For example, the infrastructure in the standard of living can be used to create bridges to move cars, and trucks across the water and that is an example of movement (5 themes of geography).

The 5 themes of geography helps people better understand the world and understand the connections between people and the earth because, you can find out what a place is like their, if the climate is hot, or if it is cold, if it is dry, or wet. It is very important to understand how people change the environment. That theme is very important because if human beings had never made bridges, and etc. then people could not get to work, or school, so they would have to take a boat. Another theme is region. This theme is important because it is an area in which there are human & physical characteristics.   The theme that I thought that was the most confusing to understand was t he human & environment interaction. This the hardest to understand because you have to find somewhere that people change the environment and it is hard to find exactly where people do it.

Throughout the lesson of basic map skills there were some struggles on it, but most of the things on map skills were easy. The first thing I thought that was easy on basic map skills was finding where and how to locate something on the world map. One thing that I kind of struggled on was the scale. The reason why that was a little confusing was because on the project that we made in school the planning sheet was smaller and the final copy paper was more like a mini poster board, so it was hard to find how many inches were in a mile for both size papers. Overall I understanded the lesson good.
